William Pene du Bois's The Twenty-One Balloons

From 1948 Newbery Medal Winner, William Pene du Bois, The Twenty-One Balloons is a book for children and adults.

It's about a man ( a teacher) who travels around in a balloon and gets shot down by a man and lands on an island.

This island was suppose to no longer exist because of a volcaic reaction. After a crash landing on a fantastical island, he embarks on an adventure where he meets locals who are able to use their time creating imaginative inventions and their own games.

The Twenty-One Balloons is every child's dream come true. Fantastic adventures, mysterious locales, riches beyond imagining and exciting inventions that have not been invented to this day.

This book is about a man named William Waterman Sherman. He lives in San Fransisco, California.

Sherman, a former arithmatic teacher, is a member of the San Fransisco Explorers Club. Sherman makes a plan to stay up in the air with his balloon for a year.

He travels around in a balloon and gets shot down by a man and lands on the island of Krakatoa, one of the volcanic islands in Indonesia.

This book called 21 Balon  in Indonesian language. The Twenty-One Balloons is a good book for anybody who enjoys a good fantasy tale.

This was such an amazing book. It was so organized (all of the ideas). His ideas were so awesome and the fact that they worked was spectacular. if you are thinking about buying this book you should definately buy it.

About the Author :
William Pène du Bois (1916–1993) was an American writer and illustrator who is best remembered for his books for young readers.

He was one of the founders of The Paris Review and illustrated books by Jules Verne, John Steinbeck, Isaac Bashevis Singer, Charlotte Zolotow, and others.

He won the 1948 Newbery Medal for The Twenty-One Balloons and received two Caldecott Honors for his illustrations for Bear Party and Lion.
